AGARTALA, Aug 24 (TIWN): Although Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb hypes often about "Nesha Mukt Tripura" but in various incidents, BJP members' strong nexus with the narcotic gangs were revealed. Once again a BJP leader was caught in illegal drug business in Tripura. As per the information, at Belonia's Rajnagar area's Nachirnagar village huge amounts of illegal Ganja was seized by Police, TSR and Forest Dept employees from a BJP leader's house. The BJP leader has been identified as Gautam Nandi who is also the Booth President of the area. Local people said they are very happy with the raid as this business is not new but since BJP formed a Govt in Tripura, his illegal activities increased. All the items (mostly woods) have been seized by Forest Dept

This is not a surprising incident for the state as many times, BJP leaders' nexus were busted by police although in many cases, due to party's pressure police could not act independently.  

Apart from narcotic deals, BJP's nexus with cattle smuggling was also alleged and recently occured Goala Basti incident where an NGO caught a vehicle loaded with cattles with signature BJP Booth President raised fingers at the role of Govt amid illegal activities going on in this state by the ruling party leaders.
