AGARTALA, July 15 (TIWN): Youth Congress activists organized a cycle rally over skyrocketing prices of petrol, diesel and LPG, meanwhile Police arrested a few protesters from the spot ( in front of Congress Bhawan) by citing Covid guidelines violation.
The prices of petrol and diesel have increased sharply over the past few days. With that the petrol price has crossed 100-rupee.
Youth congress activists assembled together and organised a bicycle rally in front of Congress Bhawan, Agartala with placards on Thursday. The Police meanwhile stopped their rally before it started, arrested a few of the protestors from the Protest spot, showing Covid guidelines excuses.
Pujan Biswas, Cong activists said, "On daily basis LPG, petrol and diesel prices have been high not only in Tripura, but across the country the price has skyrocketed, but whenever we raise voice for the sake of common people the Police detain us".
He also said the government has turned eyes blind and is not listening to the common people's voice.
“We will protest until the petrol diesel price is reduced”, said the Congress activist.
