AGARTALA, July 13 (TIWN): Two accused were arrested after 15 days of the deadly attack on a Madrassa teacher. The incident took place in Shanichhara area under Churaibari PS on June 29 for punishing a student.

According to police sources, Mohammad Miskat Ahmed a Madrassa teacher of Shanichhara Jama Masjid No. 1 of Shanichhara Gram Panchayat had punished a 7-year-old student, and centering this issue the student’s father, Chayad Mia and his younger brother Azad Mia, resident of Ward 3 of South Shanichhara organised deadly attack on the Madrassa teacher with sharp weapon on 29^th June. The Madrassa teacher later on the incident day filed a case against the two accused at Churaibari PS and then Police arrested one accused, Azad Mia and the main accused Chhayad Mia had been absconding for 14 days.

The fugitive accused, Azad surrendered to the Churaibari PS on Tuesday morning and confessed his crimes. Accordingly, the Police registered a case and will produce the accused before court today.
