AGARTALA, July 4 (TIWN): The water crisis has become a major issue for the common people in village area. Elections come and go but the plight of villagers remains unchanged. Prior election leaders, ministers promised to fulfil various issues of peoples but after winning election no visible sign of developments can be seen. Along with power crisis in village areas, now water crisis reported in Krishnapur of Yuvraj Nagar Assembly. By demanding drinking water the villagers blocked roads for several hours.
Talking to the villagers, it is known, since last 8 days the villagers of Krishnapur of Yuvraj Nagar Assembly are suffering from shortage of Drinking water. Villagers said, in left era such water crisis they did not face but in BJP era often such water crisis have become common. Villagers also said they were supposed to be given water but they were deprived from getting water. Many times earlier informed the local leaders and Gram Pradhan about the drinking water crisis but the water crisis issue remains unsolved. However, due to road blockade the vehicles from both sides faced difficulties as they had to wait for several hours.
On receiving such road blockade news, huge forces of police rushed to the spot and removed the blockade with a promise to solve their water crisis issue. Now it remains to be seen whether the villagers would be freed from such a crisis or the water shortage issue remains as it is.
