AGARTALA, Jan 28 (TIWN): Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has reacted on the police brutality on 10323 teachers on Wednesday in front City Centre and CMs residence citing when he was the Chief Minister, no police could attack any agitator for road blockade or CM's residence gherao programmes. After Biplab Deb Govt's barbaric attacks on 10323 Teachers, leaving round 150 teachers injured and 20 seriously injured after since midnight, Police started torturing the peaceful agitators at Agartala City Centre. The teachers were sleeping in the demonstration spot when JMC leader Bijoy Krishna Saha was arrested from there in dark-hours under Biplab Deb's cowardian order to lift the agitators before sun rises. For 3 to 4 times of police attacks left hundreds of teachers injured who were demanding their jobs back which was promised by the BJP. However, reacting over the brutality, violence on Citizens, Ex-CM Manik Sarkar has stated that such displays of power is not symbol of strength but it's weakness. He cited how during his tenure his Govt allowed IPFT to keep National Highway block at Baramura without a single lathi-charge. He said, this is the difference of perspective. "Many people asked, why were we so silent and so soft against national highway blockades but our Govt always displayed tolerance and humanity, capacity to handle things.
He has asked the BJP Govt to revoke the 13,000 posts immediately which were created by his Govt in 2017.
