AGARTALA, Dec 25 (TIWN): 40 enlisted contractors of TSECL met AGM Hare Krishna Das of Sepahi Jala district and handed over deputation for not getting work order and bill after giving free electricity connection under Saubhagya Yojana scheme.

The contractors informed that the connections were given in Financial year 18/19. At that time the DGM, SDO, and senior manager created pressure on them to provide the connection within 15 days. Total 20,000 free electricity connections were given in Sepahijala Div 1, Jampuijala, and Sonamura and the charge fixed was 2300 for each connection.

 On Dec 24, when the contractors went to AGM to give deputation, the AGM sought 10 days from them to solve their problem. The workers said that if the department fails to sort out the issue within 10 days, they will join a larger movement in the coming days.
