AGARTALA, Dec 23 (TIWN): Tripura High Court has ordered immediate appointment and regularization of deprived Forest Dept Employees.
The division bench ordered them to be appointed to the post of labor in the forest department.
According to the decision of State Government in 2019, it was decided to regularize 363 people who were working as casual workers as permanent laborers.
In March 2018, out of 363, 343 workers were regularized. In later days out of left 21, 12 casual workers were terminated from their job because of unknown reason. Subsequently, 12 workers filed a writ petition against the state government for unfairly depriving them of regularization.
After bringing the file from the state government, it was seen that their names were on the regular acquisition list. Despite this, they were fired.
On Sept 13 after hearing the statements of the two parties, Hon’ble justice S. Talapatra gave the verdict to regularize them. According to the verdict, the state government regularized 3 casual workers only and asked HC to give them more time to run the procedure. The High Court dismissed the appeal and let those workers join their job.
Along Senior Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman, Advocate Samarjit Bhattacharjee, Koushik Nath had represented the Forest Dept employees.
