AGARTALA, Dec 21 (TIWN): Speaking with the reporters, Comrade Pabitra Kar alleged that a group of BJP goons, backed by the Mandal president, attacked the convention organized at his residence yesterday. Three leaders of the party namely—local committee leader Sadaranjan Deb, Ratan Das, and Pinak Das—were badly injured. Sadaranjan was referred to Kolkata with a serious head injury, while the condition of two other workers remained critical.
“At least 10 houses were vandalized and 2 houses were set on fire. The miscreants went to activists’ houses to house whole night and looted cash and heavy pieces of jewelry from locker”, he added.
Aside, four journalists were assaulted by the culprits when they were covering the clash between the two political parties.
