AGARTALA, Dec 4 (TIWN): Tripura High Court on Friday has stayed the admission procedure of the Agartala Govt Medical College (AGMC) due to violation of guidelines of reservation quota system. Addressing media, High Court Advocate Arijit Bhowmick has said, "On 7/11/2020, advertisement was given for admission for MBBS Course. In that admission, 3 OBC seats for RIMS, Imphal were reserved and 10 seats for EWC in the AGMC. In our state there is no provision such reservations except SC, ST and in 2019 only amendment was done of the constitution. But no law was passed in the State Assembly of Tripura. Thus, based on the petition filed by us, HC Chief Justice Akil Kureshi has stayed the admission process today. However, the counseling will be continued but no admission can be given until further order.
