AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Monday on being asked by media about war memorial's shifting from Post Office Chowmuhani to Albert Ekka Park which has heavily hurt the sentiment of Agartala residents said that it will increase now the knowledge about the real history at the Park which is dedicated for 1971's War but in Post Office Chowmuhani, it has no meaning.
As controversy and resentment grew against the decision, CM Biplab Deb asked people to take things positively.
He asked, "Can anyone take a Selfie before Post Office Chowmuhani Cannons like I-Love-Agartala symbol in front of Ujjayanta Palace ?"
The Chief Minister also claimed that people actually don't know properly about the history of the cannons and thus to let them know, those were shifted from Post Office Chowmuhani.
"We are not throwing the memorials in water but just shifting it to Albert Ekka Park, where the memorial will be stored with proper history", said CM Biplab Deb.
