AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): Former Tripura Congress President, Prince Pradyot Manikya has held a meeting with Chief Minister Biplab Deb over the Bru settlement issue.

This meeting was conducted when majority at Kanchanpur led by Nagarik-Surakhsha-Mancha and Mizo-Convention are are against Bru settlement there at massive numbers followed by clashes and unrests.

Pradyot Manikya also said that he has a meeting via video conferencing with Central Home Ministry at Secretariat over this same issue.

On being asked by media, CM Biplab Deb said that Bru settlement is as per the pact was signed with Centre and just due COVID-19 the rehabilitation process was delayed. There is nothing which should be a matter of concern. 

On the other side, Kanchanpur strikers demanded that the rehabilitation should be scientific and in all Districts the Brus should be given homes. It will not only keep the balance among the communities but also to hold the economy and work-opportunities at equal level.
