AGARTALA, Oct 25 (TIWN): Woman Police officer has been assaulted in Bitarban, Agartala after she went to interrogate a family based on complaint of a housewife who was beaten and sent back to her father's home.
The attacked police officer is Purnima Das (Sarkar) said, when the housewife Purnima Khatun has complained against the family but her little son was not given to her. Based on that a case was registered in West Agartala Women PS.
As the victim's husband is not coming the police station even after calling him for last 4 days, Police today went to inquire the matter in Purnima Khatun's in-law's home but on that time, instead of cooperating, victim's mother in law Kalabati Bibi and her husband Hassan Mia have assaulted her, tore her dress.
