AGARTALA, Aug 27 (TIWN): Teliamura has become a heaven town for drug traffickers and drug users even in the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Police arrested two drug traffickers from the local Ampi Chaumuni area on Tuesday night.

The arrested youths are Kamlesh Debbarma and Joydip Chowdhury. The houses of the two arrested youths are in Moharpara and Dashamighat areas.

According to a source from Teliamura PS, some youths in area of Ampi Chowmuhani started roaming around 6 pm on Tuesday. The matter was noticed by the traffic police personnel and informed to the Teliamura PS. Later the police rushed to the spot and arrested the two youth, but the rest traffickers escaped from that area.

Although Jagadishwar Reddy conducted raids in different parts of the Teliamura town with the arrested youths. Meanwhile, the police recovered a partial amount of drugs from these two arrested youths. Police sent the two arrested youths to Khowai court on Wednesday.
