BISHRAMGANJ (Gomati Dist, Tripura), Aug 25 (TIWN): An infamous smuggler accused named Tipu Sultan has been detained by Bishramganj Police on Monday with the help of the local people there.

Reportedly, a gang of drug smugglers are harming the law and order of Bishramganj. Among them, Tipu Sultan was one of the smugglers, as per the allegation of the locals.

Local people had warned Tipu Sultan many times about his illegal business but he continued his illegal sales which was causing disturbance in the area.

At end, local people caught him and found brown sugar with him, but a huge numbers of mob gathered there and started beating him. This incident took place at Bandar Khama area.

Police rushed to the spot and rescued him, hospitalized. From Bishramganj hospital, he was referred to Hapania’s TMC hospital.
