AGARTALA, Aug 24 (TIWN): “In this Corona-virus pandemic, workers should get Rs. 600. BJP promised about Rs. 340 MGNREGA wages, but people not getting even Rs. 120. In last month only 4 and half days mandays were given. Govt has no concernâ€, said CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar in a protest staged in the Agartala city with social distancing. Addressing media Kar said, “Tripura’s Health Services have been collapsed. Only 3 Doctors in GB hospital, patients are over 200 in COVID-19. You have seen a patient party from Sabroom to Udaipur to GB hospital to IGM but hospital did not admit them".
"Oxygen, blood crisis situations are going on. More surprisingly, in whole world nowhere happened but in Tripura in outside the classroom, classes are being taken. Snakes, bulls are attacking the students.The teacher was found COVID-19 positive. Is it a joke going on ? On 26th August, there will be massive protests in Tripura. We are ready to go to jail”.
The protest was staged in Ker Chowmuhani area, with social distancing and CPI-M part's flags in hands, hanging banners from their neck.
