AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): No arrest yet happened in the Champaknagar incident where a woman attempted to be murdered in allegation of Witch.

The victim supporting locals took Advocate Bhaskar Debbarma’s help. A team today visited the Police headquarter, met the higher authority seeking justice.

The widow was beaten at Champaknagar’s Chinkram Conra Para on 29th May, 2020, Friday by villagers, accusing her as a witch. She was attempted to be murdered on spot but later when police rescued her, she luckily survived but still critical to her health at the GB hospital.

From local hospital, she was referred to GB hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. But even after more than 1 month crossed since the incident, Police could not arrest a single person.
