AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): Tripura CITU has stated that before lockdown, if the migrant workers and stranded people could be send off to home, then it would be better for them.
Addressing media, former Minister cum CITU leader Manik Dey said that the COVID-19 outbreak started from December-2019 and Govt of India was late to declare lockdown. But when lockdown was declared, it was important that first to solve workers problems and sending them to home. Stranded people could had been release first and then the lockdown would start as lockdown was already late.
The CITU leader also blamed the BJP led Central Govt for poor migrant labourers deaths.
“Centre is pushing the duty to states and states are saying, movement of vehicles are on Centre but in the middle, these people are suffering”, said Manik Dey.
