Last year a police officer named Durga Chandra Hrangkhawl was killed by Boxonagar based drug smugglers by running a car on him. In that case also, investigation remained under cloud.

Tripura Human Rights Organization (THRO) has sought Judicial probe in the 3 custodial murder cases which occurred in last 3 months.

In last 4 months 3 custodial alleged murders / unnatural deaths in Tripura turning the state into UP. 

After two horrifying police custodial murder cases reported in Tripura in last 3 months, one more unnatural custodial death was reported from the Bishalgarh Jail on January 28 but no major development in that case too.
