AGARTALA, Oct. 8 (TIWN): Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) G.K. Rao said on Thursday that the state police are fully prepared to maintain security and ensure the smooth conduct of Durga Puja celebrations across the state.
Speaking to the media, Rao said Durga Puja is one of the biggest festivals in Tripura and that the police department has taken necessary measures to prevent disruptions and maintain public safety throughout the festival period.
According to the DGP, security arrangements have been strengthened at key locations, including major puja venues, crowded public areas and important roads. Police personnel will maintain increased vigilance and conduct regular patrolling and checking as part of the security plan.
The police have also focused on surveillance through CCTV cameras. Adequate CCTV coverage has been arranged at important locations to monitor crowd movement and identify any suspicious activity during the celebrations.

“We are fully prepared to safeguard the state during Durga Puja,” Rao said, emphasizing that all necessary security arrangements have been put in place.
