CM was addressing in a cultural fest of the indigenous people in Agartala. CM claimed, “Before Padma Sri how many people had come to know about Thanga Darlong ?”

“Very few persons play Rasam and among them Thanga Darlong was one of them. But who did find out Thanga Darlong ? But Narendra Modi has found out him”, he claimed.

Thanga Darlong is an Indian folk music artist, known for his contribution to the folk music of Tripura and his work in preserving & promoting the traditional instrument Rosem. He was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India.
