AGARTALA, Dec 27 (TIWN): Various Baul singers from Bangladesh to perform at Rabindra Bhawan in Agartala on December 29.
This programme will be part of annual festival which takes place every year.
Baul or Bauls are a group of mystic minstrels from Bengal region of the South Asia, which includes Bangladesh and the Indian states of West Bengal and Tripura. Bauls constitute both a syncretic religious sect and a musical tradition.
Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner Mr Chakma has announced, various singers from Bangladesh and poets will remain present to perform on the occasion, further inviting Tripura's people to join the programme. Also there might be performers from Tripura too. The programme is aimed to strengthen Indo-Bangla relation with a cultural exchange.
