AGARTALA, Oct 24 (TIWN): BJP State President cum Chief Minister Biplab Deb has issued expulsion of party leader Saraswati Lodh after a sting operation footage exposed her while she was demanding hefty bribes from a youth to manage contracts in the ONGC. However, Congress supporters in social media have slammed the Govt as no action against Lodh was taken legally when BJP talks tall about “Corruption Free Indiaâ€.
The viral video released by most likely one former BJP activist who worked for the party but when sought help Saraswati Lodh was asking Rs. 50000 from him to manage contacts at the ONGC. Lodh was telling the unknown sting operator, “Whatever happened just forget everything. If necessary I will manage a post for you and till our party (BJP) will exist in power you will earn in “neat and clean” way”.
Then when the sting operator asked her, “Just tell me, how can I manage Rs. 50000 ?”, Lodh was saying, “This is not my demand…………”.
Then the sting operator again said, “Whoever behind it, but tell me for years we worked for the party but what are we getting ?”
Lodh replied, “Rs. 50000 was demanded by Kartik Babu. Now me and Kartik Da will go to Dada and let’s talk”.
She however added, “There is no personal benefit of either me or Kartik Das but we need to talk to Dada”.
She also asked whether he has Pristha-Pramukh cards and he said no but he gave huge “chandas” for the party.
She said, “I understand…..but………”.
Then the man told her that he gave 4 votes in last Lok Sabha Election (Pratima Bhowmik’s seat), but Saraswati Lodh told him, “If you want to get something you have to return something”.
