AGARTALA, Oct 10 (TIWN): For the past few days, many parts of Northeast India have been seeing light rainfall activities, particularly the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. Moreover, Nagaland, Tripura also saw scattered showers in the last 24 hours.
Moderate rainfall activity was seen over parts of Manipur, Mizoram as well as Tripura in the last 24 hours.
These rains occurred in view of the Confluence Zone which has developed due to an Anti-Cyclone over North Bay of Bengal wherein southeasterly winds entered NMMT and northwesterly dry winds merged over that area.
Now, a trough is likely to extend along the eastern parts of the country up to Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, says skymetweather.com.
Therefore, rainfall intensity is expected to increase gradually. For the next 24 hours, scattered light rains will be seen and the intensity will increase on February 27 and 28 over entire Northeast India including Nagaland.
A few moderate spells of rains with isolated hailstorm activities are also expected. Thereafter, this Trough is likely to weaken. Thereafter, after March 1, weather will start clearing up but isolated light rains will continue over entire Northeast India including Nagaland, skymetweather reported.
