AGARTALA, Oct 4 (TIWN): When for rich and middle class people, Durga puja is still a celebration amid limited budgets but this year Durga puja has caused massive distresses for poor people across Tripura’s various parts specially in rural and ADC areas.
Reportedly, angry MGNREGA workers blocked Tulashikar block office demanding their pending wages. In many areas, similar situations are going on.
Pending MGNREGA wages have created massive anxieties throughout Tripura just ahead of Durga puja.
A section of unpaid workers although received the wages but a major section yet left deprive whereas inequal wages payments were alleged too. This situation affected also the rural and urban economy, distressing the garment business.
Recently, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar while addressing in a rally at Udaipur, Gomati District on 30th September alleged that the MGNREGA’s fund which was looted by none other than BJP’s direct beneficiaries under party-tag although without contributing a single mandays.
