AGARTALA, Sep 14 (TIWN): India is the biggest democratic country of the world, said Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb while addressing at the inauguration programme of New District Court Building at Agartala Court Complex, Agartala.

CM pointed, if democracy and freedom of speech were not existing in the country, how the oppositions are able to raise their voices ?

“I have seen, often a section of people comment that there is no democracy in the country and people lost their voice under autocracy. But you yourself answering your question by raising voice. If democracy was not existing how you are protesting, bringing allegation against the ruling Government”, said.

Deb further said, India is such a country where when democracy is questioned Supreme Court is open in midnight for urgent hearing.
