AGARTALA, Sep 14 (TIWN): Manas Kumar Pal, UDC, Tripura University was suspended on12.08.2019 in connection with FIR by Ms. S. Gambhini, Patron, Girls Hostel, TU on 09.08.2019 the University has also provided sufficient guards for her security purpose since the day.

But the University staffs have alleged impartial role of Tripura Police and Women Commission. On September 12, they protested in front of the Women Commission office as Manas Pal is roaming in bail.

The staffs asked the Women Commission to play neutral role and to stand beside all victim women forgetting political identity.

The decision of suspension was taken by the University on the basis of legal advice. Mr. Pal has been suspended in contemplation of departmental proceeding under Rules 10 of CCS (CCA) rules 1965 read with section 26 of Tripura University Act, 2006. An inquiry committee has also been constituted to inquire the matter. Along with the same the matter has also been moved to Internal Complaint Committee.
