AGARTALA, Sep 13 (TIWN): Tripura CM Biplab Deb on Friday has announced that soon his Government will hike salaries of Elected Panchayat, Village Council, Corporation, Municipal Council’s leaders.
He also said that Panchayat, Village council, corporation, municipal council, elected persons salaries only not to be increased but also others will get few more benefits.
“Those members who will be present in the meetings, their daily wage also to be increased”, said Deb.
CM said he has decided this because he has observed that only 1200 rupees is given to a Panchayat Pradhan.
“1200 rupees is nothing for a person to spend his livelihood. After paying them so less how can we expect honest from them ? I am hiking their salaries, so that in future they can not put any excuse if they grab any commission from public fund”, Deb said further reminding the leaders that their salaries will be hiked from public funds only and so they must dedicate themselves for public-welfare.
CM was addressing in One Day Seminar / Training on Responsibility, Power and Function of 3-Tier Panchayat' at Rabindra Bhawan.
