AGARTALA, Aug 23 (TIWN): Prominent hospital IGM's outdoor was left without any doctor today in day time. A local journalist named Bikram Karmakar went in the hospital with his mother, who was suffering from strong fever. Bikram, who has claimed him as a journalist reportedly in duty time, in emergency went to his home to bring his mother in the hospital but when he came, no doctor was there at outdoor and then rows started with huge numbers of patients. Usually Bikram was taking bytes from the patients with footage of the Doctors’ empty chamber, but suddenly the Doctor named Uttam Kumar Barman rushed to his chamber and asked why without permission he was taking footage ? Then the doctor asked his photo-ID of his media-office and started beating him.
Generally under Govt’s motivation, journalists started various sting operations across state but according to IGM Medical Super Radha Debbarma, nobody can take any footage without permission from hospital authority. She also alleged, IGM is suffering from Doctors’ crisis as per the load of the patiets and in this situation Doctors are doing their best.
Radha Debbarma said, “We give out best. Enough Service is given amid Doctors’ Crisis, but if the situation is like that how can we work”.
She also said, Doctors are afraid, whereas the reporter Bikram Karmakar said, he was just taking footage, which is his profession and was suffering like other patient parties before empty outdoor. Question raises, whether if any fault of Govt official is found, then a person can taken footage or not ? Is sting operation is allowed or not ?
The Doctor however said, he went to an emergency patient on that time.
IGM hospital also demanded action against Bikram Karmakar. It has to be seen whether CCTV footage can be found or not.
According to Medical Super Radha Debbarma’s allegation, question raises, why in a major hospital like IGM, there should be Doctors’ crisis ? Emergency patient can also be there in outdoors.
