AGARTALA, Aug 22 (TIWN): Festival season has been kicked off in full wave in Tripura.
After Kharchi fair, Raksha Bandhan and Manasa Puja, State is all set to celebrate Sri Krishna’s Janmastami utsav which is going to be celebrated on August 24th.
Ahead of Dura puja this festive fervor has started in full enthusiasm.
Any Janmashtami celebration is incomplete without fun and food. Thus long rows are observed ahead of fruit, sweet shops.
Janmastami commemorates the earthly appearance of Krishna, who is described in India’s sacred writings as God himself.
One of the biggest religious festivals in the world, it is celebrated by nine hundred and thirty million people around the world.
At the same time, preparations for Durga puja is going on peak across the state and buying of garments have started. Durga puja will be celebrated form October 3 to October 8.
