AGARTALA, Aug 9 (TIWN): BJP, RSS call the indigenous people as ‘Bana-Basi and Jana-Jati’ which mean the tribes are Hanuman, not human, said Tripura’s former MP Jitendra Chaudhury who is also a great leader of the indigenous people under CPI-M’s Gana Mukti Parishad.
“RSS, BJP believe that Arrays are India’s Adibasi, not the tribes. They do not accept indigenous people not Indian race and as a result they call them (tribes) Banabasi, Janajati”, said Chaudhury.
Jitendra Chaudhury was addressing on the occasion of World Indigenous Day in Agartala organized by GMP.
He strongly criticized Modi Govt’s move against the indigenous people by snatching their lands and pattas.
“As BJP, RSS do not consider the tribes as original inhabitants of India, so they do not support the Forest Act right. Lawyers are not sent in the Supreme court to save the rights of the indigenous people”, he added.
