AGARTALA, Aug 3 (TIWN): After a tom-tom driver committed suicide after E-Rickshaws were banned in Tripura, tom-tom driver blocked road in Agartala demanding justice.
This mass sufferings created as no alternative livelihood was chosen for the workers after High Court's order in banning tom tom.
49 years old old Vivekananda Malakar, resident of Indranagar, tom tom driver committed suicide after Govt banned tom tom since 3 days. He was unable to give debt of Bandhan Bank.
Tom tom drivers demanded just one month time from the BJP led State Govt after E-rickshaws were banned in the state, but Transport dept to Law dept didn’t bother about the problems although since 3 days state's media houses are updating the Government about tom-tom drivers' problems and pathetic condition. The e-rickshaw drivers were roaming from doors to doors, from Transport Dept to AMC but Govt turned deaf ears.
