TIWN June 25, 2019

AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): BJP led State Govt has decided to impose Right-to-Education law’s each section which was brought in action in 2009 by the Central Govt but in Tripura it was never implemented properly.
However, as this year’s academic session has ended thus Education dept has decided to start this practice from 2020.
Education Dept said, due to previous Govt’s negligence, this Education Law could not be implemented in Tripura depriving 27,000 students even though the central govt was to carry all the expenses of those students.
However, from the next financial year, the Govt will impose the law.
Right to Education law was enacted in 2009, although in Tripura it started in 2011 but Right to Education’s one section clearly says about 25% students’ admission from BPL families, ST and also OBC.
Total 335 private schools are existing in Tripura. Total numbers of students in those schools are 11,941.
Out of them around 3000 students will get admission under Right to Education per year.
