AGARTALA / GANDACHERA, June 17 (TIWN): Tension continues in Gandachera subdivision of Tripura centering clash between ruling two parties. Both BJP and IPFT are accused of tempering each-other at Gandachera and few were reportedly injured but the number of security persons were seen less than the need. At the same time, violence related videos are going viral in social media, even though mainstream of media in Tripura didn’t report regarding the actual situation yet. Youths of IPFT were seen injured and they also carried “lathisâ€, “da’ saying BJP held an attack on them and also stone pelting took place between two groups. Huge numbers of security persons were deployed in the area, law and order reportedly left turmoil. Amid Home Dept sounded alters across Gandachera subdivision but political violence, clashes continue centering upcoming Panchayat election. This is not the first time that BJP and IPFT came in clashes but multiple times since 2018 the parties fought against each-other centering election seasons.
In last local body election, the situation went much violent between two parties. In this situation Government which is formed by BJP and IPFT has not delivered any statement jointly.
BJP-IPFT led Govt has two IPFT Ministers in the party.
Curfew, Section-144 were imposed in the subdivision. Pictures and videos of violence are being spread through WhatsApp, facebook creating panic.
Today many injured, stone pelting reports came from Gandachera. Mob gathering becoming unmanageable for the security persons.
Recently miscreants attacked in MP Rebati Tripura’s home and the MP directly blamed IPFT for that.
Today IPFT said, BJP had attacked them at first and also youths were shown injured at Gandachera. Later footage shown IPFT supporters carrying bricks with them.
