AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, June 15 (TIWN): Chief Minister Biplab Deb has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at New Delhi after the 5th NITI Aayog session was ended successfully.
Various demands for state’s development was placed before the PM by Biplab Deb including roadway projects, flood problems and malaria like diseases which grips Tripura each year.
The meeting was followed by NITI Aayog’s meet at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Today while addressing at the NITI Aayog meet, Biplab Deb said that the water-line route will make Tripura the gateway of Northeast.
Also various issues were placed and proposals given to centre for tourism industry’s development.
He urged for more CRS fund for the Northeast, public sector companies in India should be permitted to use 10% of their CRS fund in the Northeast, may pave the way for implementation of HIRA.
Deb urged Petroleum Ministry to re-exam the VAT issue with ONGC, causing losses to the Government of Tripura.
The CM also told the NITI Aayog about developmental projects and helps given to the rural people of Tripura.
