Tripura Govt starts buying Paddy at support price of Rs. 1750 / quintal

AGARTALA, June 11 (TIWN): Govt of Tripura has started paddy procurement at MSP of Rs. 1750.
In Telimaura today farmers sold their food grains, expressed satisfaction. This is the first step of the Govt for doubling farmers’ incomes.
At Udaipur also the process has begun. A farmer can sell up to 2 quintal of food grain to the Govt.
Govt has targeted 10,000 matric ton food grains’ buying which likely to cost 2 crores 25 thousand, earlier said Food Minister Manoj Kanti Deb.
Govt started this practice since 2018 aimed to stable the farmers’ economic condition. Report says that food grains’ quality in ration shops has developed.
