AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, June 1 (TIWN): In order to promote Health for All, eradication of Tobacco is need of the time by promoting No Tobacco day said Prof. V. L. Dharurrkar, Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University.
In order to promote Health for All, eradication of Tobacco is need of the time by promoting No Tobacco day said Prof. V. L. Dharurrkar while celebration of World No Tobacco Day today in the Central Library of Tripura University. Dr. Indraneel Bhowmik, DSW briefly explained about the importance of the program. In the program, Prof. Dharurkar said Tobacco leads Oral Cancer and every year around 7 billion people across the world losing their lives and the countless number of families are devastated.
We have to educate our youth, middle age and the aged person also to make aware of the horrible effects of Tobacco on public health. Our growth rate can be increased if we can fight against these evil habits. Our growth engine can be further boosted by eradicating such unfruitful practices. The massive awareness campaign should be launched in a systematic manner in villages as well as in the city to get rid of these evil practices. Prof. S. Podder and others have delivered the speech in the program. Dr. B. Sanjay, Librarian of the Central Library proposed the vote of thanks and the program ended with the National anthem.
