AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): After West Tripura RO was dropped from Election duty, CPI-M has demanded re-poll in the whole constituency.
Addressing in a press conference, CPI-M leader Bijan Dhar said, “With the removal of Sandeep Mahatame there is no doubt left regarding poll-rigging. We urge the ECI to conduct a peaceful re-election”.
The party also accepted the total decision of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Election Commission of India has released West RO Sandeep Mahatme from the Election duty permanently.
After peaceful election and strict observation against BJP’s hooliganism in East Tripura constituency Election, as a part of appreciation now East Tripura RO Vikash Singh has been appointed as the RO of West Tripura. However, who will take charge of East Tripura it’s not clear yet.
Earlier, BJP Govt and its party claimed that the election in West Tripura was “free” and “fair”, but it was exposed due to thousands of video clips of poll rigging and CCTV proves.Ahead of the decision opposition had requested Election Commission to remove the RO-West from Election duty but on yesterday in a letter it was ordered that west RO had been transferred to East Tripura constituency whereas East RO has been transferred in West.
