AGARTALA, Feb 5 (TIWN): After Tripura’s Royal family’s inheritor Pradyot Manikya filed a writ-petition, Supreme Court of India has ordered scrutiny of Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s citizenship whether a true Indian
At the same time, also other people holding constitutional posts will come under this verification.Pradyot Manikya who is right now at Delhi is taking help from eminent lawyers of the SC.
The Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi in a hearing ordered the scrutiny.
On yesterday in an social media update, Pradyot Manikya said, “Met Former union minister and prominent Lawyer Salman Khurshid on ways to take legal steps in the SC to prevent the Citizenship Amendmen tBill.According to almost all legal lumanries this bill is against the principles of the Indian constitution”.
Earlier also many controversies had erupted in Tripura centering Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s originality. Another BJP MLA Krishnadhan Das’s citizenship and degrees are under cloud.
