AGARTALA, Dec 27 (TIWN): BJP Yuva Morcha Bishalgrah President Nabadul Banik who before a month back had attacked former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar at Bishalgrah today has slapped, punched 65 years old, Ex-Finance Minister of Tripura Banulal Saha on his face when he visited polling centres during Municipal by-poll.
Saha’s spectacle was also broken in that attack and he received injuries on his face. Even though FIR was lodged but police have not taken any action yet.
Talking to media, Bhanulal Saha said, he never could imagine young people of his locality will attack him like this.
Noteworthy, the 65 years communist leader is also suffering from cancer.
Total 10 candidates have submitted nominations and accordingly CPI-M candidates along with polling agents went to the booth centres. In Booth No-3 and Booth No-5, polling agents were sent whereas like all booths BJP prevented them to enter in those booths also. At 9 am, BJP miscreants led by Nabadul Banik. along with around 50 BJP goons started beating the CPI-M activists and polling agents at there.
The BJP miscreants attacked Ex-Minister Bhanulal Saha who was the polling agent of Ward No-4.
15 No-Ward CPI-M candidate Satyaranjan Das was attacked in front of his house led by same Yuva Morcha leader Nabadul Banik.
Apart from Bhanu lal Saha Ward No-3 candidate Prasenjit Bhattacharjee, Ward No-5 candidate Pritam Majumder, election agent Tapan Debnath, Ward-No-7 candidate Bishnupada Bhowmik were injured in the attack. Right now Bishnupada Bhowmik is admitted in TMC hospital after he received serious injuries.
Two voters at Bishalgrah were also attacked.
