AGARTALA, Nov 6 (TIWN): Using 24X7city mobile van, West Agartala Police has arrested one veteran thief today.
The thief was detained after he along with another miscreant had snatched one necklace today from a woman Namita Pal, W/O-Dulal Chandra Pal in morning walk times from Joypur area by showing sharp weapon and injuring here.
Husband of the injured woman Dulal Chandra Pal, resident of Krishnanagar told media, "Like everyday we were walking in the morning, but suddenly two miscreants attacked my wife and attempted to snatch her necklace. During the attempt, she fell on the road and the miscreants pressed her mouth and face with a cloth and then snatch the necklace. When I tried to catch them, they had shown me the big "Da" (local weapon) and then I didn't do anything. My wife is still afraid and injured. I rushed to the police station and informed the police about the incident and accordingly they (police) are taking action".
Getting informed the city mobile which works 24 hours in the city started searches for the thieves. Then police officers also engaged themselves to find out the culprits. From a numberless bike one thief was arrested, whereas another thief managed to escape.
The housewife Namita Pal was seriously injured by the robbers, hospitalized.
