AGARTALA, Sep 29 (TIWN): The ongoing problems in Tripura Medical College (TMC) has been ended as internees have called off their strike after talking to the authority.
However, the management committee talking thinking to increase Rs. 1000 per internee in coming days, but as TMC is undergoing financial losses, nothing has been assured. Also in compare to many states private colleges TMC is paying high.
It has been said that the Chairman of SFTMC & other members of executive committee of SFTMC have tol the TMC & Doctor BRAM Teaching hospital sat in a meeting and said that TMC has been declared as a private college by the state govt long back. As a result no financial help is possible from the Govt of Tripura.
The authority said, "There is no stipulated guideline framed by the MCI regarding the payments and stipend of the internees and also the internees are not bound to complete the whole practice in a same College and but TMC right now neither bound to hike the stipend, nor capable to hike it too".
However, TMC will consider the demand when other employees pay-reviews will be done.
Amid heavy financial losses since past year, the committee members proposed that to grant Rs. 1,000/- to be paid to all internees starting this year onwards as an ex-gratia for the puja festival, as the same is disbursed by the society all eligible staffs and employees.
