AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): CPI-M's tribal wing Gana Mukti Parishad (GMP) has raised various pending issues for which the state is suffering right now ahead of Durga Puja.
GMP General Secretary Radha Charan Debbarma placed certain demands before the State Govt as through the press meet :
1) To manage works in the rural area under various projects and Depts so that people can at least manage the Durga puja season and buy things for their families and children,
2) Social Pensions which are stopped in the name of verification should be given before Durga puja,
3) To take proper prevention of malaria attacks which already has killed 7 in Dhalai District,
4) ADC is not getting any fund, so state govt must give it for tribal people's welfare,
5) To repair the roads which left in deplorable shape due to flood and monsoon,
6) Subsidy of gas connection are not sufficient. So, GMP demanded to hike the subsidy,
7) SC, ST promotions which are halted should be promoted soon,
8) To control the Law and Order situation.
