AGARTALA, Sep 24 (TIWN): As all 82 internees doctors of Tripura Medical College (TMC) have gone in strike demanding pay hikes, patients are suffering.
Long queues of patient parties were seen at TMC and the health service was halted, but the trainees told media if 'no hike' then 'no service' accusing the College authority as capitalist.
According to the agitators, whereas at AGMC doctors in practice are getting Rs. 18,000 but in TMC the same doctors are getting only Rs. 12,500.
Till a solution the doctors will continue their strike. However, it has led heavy choas in the Medical College.
Tripura Medical College is a college in Hapania.
A recent development, it has been cited as being important towards social development in the state, but there are huge debates regarding the ownership of the College since the Left Govt's era, but the Govt has declared that it's a society run institution, not controlled by the Govt.
