UDAIPUR, July 11 (TIWN): Bengal monitor lizard like snake has fueled mass tension at Udaipur today.
The snake was recovered today at Udaipur town Central road, when the whole town was busy in its market day.
Suddenly seeing the snake shop-keepers and buyers were frightened. However, later few locals had caught it and called Forest Dept.
SDFO Pallab Chakraborty rushed to the spot and has taken it.
Forest Dept officials however said it’s Bengal monitor lizard only and in Udaipur like urban areas it’s existence is not impossible as there are many big lakes and Gomati river is flowing beside the market.
The snake was released in a deep forest at Gandhari in Amarpur-Udaipur road.
