AGARTALA, June 21 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has called state to keep on practicing ‘Yoga’ and to continue to be ‘healthy’.
“This Yoga is not new, but India has been practicing Yoga since thousand years and now 173 countries follow Indian traditional yoga. In US and China above thousands of Yoga centers have been opened”, CM told media.
International Day of Yoga, or commonly and unofficially referred to as Yoga Day, is celebrated annually on 21 June since its inception in 2015. An international day for yoga was declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly.
Tripura has celebrated International Yoga Day’s main programme at ADC Headquarter Khumlwng in the presence of CM Biplab Deb.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that Yoga has the power to unite individuals, society, country and the world at large, and has emerged as a major unifying forces globally.
"Yoga has become one of the most powerful unifying forces in the world. It unites individuals, families, society, country and the world," Modi said while leading the fourth International Yoga Day celebrations here in Uttarakhand.
