AGARTALA, June 17 (TIWN): ‘A section of Police officials in Tripura are connected with drug smuggling’, Tripura Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath said on Saturday.
The Minister was addressing at West District Court at Agartala during ‘One Day Orientation Training programme’ on 'A study on the Relevant Provisions of NDPS Act with Special reference to seizure & Sampling and Storage & Destruction’.
Addressing to media, Ratan Lal Nath also referred the recent episode when South Tripura’s one police official was arrested for his nexus with drug smuggling.
Ratan Lal Nath also alleged that a section police officials do not know how to write properly while lodging an FIR or case.
However, the Minister made it clear that he meant ‘a section’ of police official, but not all police officials as a major section of police force now working to make an ‘Addiction free state’.
