KAILASHAHAR, June 13 (TIWN): An extreme weather event (starting from12th June morning) created unprecedented rainfall and resultant flood situation landslides in the State. Out of seven districts, four districts i.e. Unakoti, Dhalai, Khowai and South Tripura districts were affected the most.
Chief Minister Biplab Deb, visited one of the most affected areas, Kailshahar in Unakoti district and undertook an extensive review of the flood relief work being undertaken.
CM assured the citizens in the flood relief camp of all possible help from the Authorities and informed them that the State Government of Tripura firmly stood with them in this hour of need. Hon’ble Chief Minister announced Rs. 5 lacs ex-gratia for the kin of the deceased.
As per latest reports,6054 families have been affected and 180 relief camps opened by the State Government in seven districts of Unakoti, North Tripura, Dhalai, Khowai, West Tripura, Gomati and South Tripura. The District administration mounted 24x7 rescue and evacuation operations and managed to protect lives of affected people .
