AGARTALA, June 4 (TIWN): Tripura has shined in inter-school Chess Boxing and Federation Cup with 8 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze medals total comprising the both tournaments.
The athletes left state on May 26 to attend 3rd addition inter-school Chess Boxing Tournament-2018 and another Federation Cup at Mumbai.
The 6 athletes attended in 2 events and scored excellent with 5 gold medals and 1 silver medal in the inter-school competition.
In Federation Cup also, the state athletes achieved 3 gold, 1 bronzes, 2 silver medals.
From May 28 to May 31st the tournaments took place and the success was beyond expectations.
Chess boxing, or chessboxing, is a hybrid fighting sport that combines two traditional pastimes: chess, a cerebral board game, and boxing, a physical sport. The competitors fight in alternating rounds of chess and boxing.
Tripura is now preparing for World Championship.
