AGARTALA, May 14 (TIWN): Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma on Monday said, the highest numbers of govt employees according to ratios and populations are existing in Tripura.
Being asked by the media regarding the delaying 7th Pay Commission, the Deputy CM said, "Tripura is having the highest numbers of govt employees. That's why it's taking time, but committee is doing its work".
"If you go through the population-wise data, highest numbers of Govt employees are in Tripura, which is 4.38 %. In other states it's below 1 %", he added.
"At Gujarat only 0.3 % are govt employees, at Assam 0.77%, but here with the blessing of the previous govt it's 4.38 %", the Deputy CM said.
"The previous govt gave too many jobs and kept them on ‘fixed’ basis. How can a government offer job to a person on fixed scale at regular basis ? In this way the things were haphazard under the previous govt. But we are working to give 7th pay commission”, Jishnu Debbarma added.
