AGARTALA, May 13 (TIWN): Ruling BJP have failed to occupy the Bar Association fully as out of 15 posts 6 have been occupied by the opposition CPI-M. 60 % is however in BJP's favour, whereas CPI-M occupied 40 % seats. BJP is leading with the majority of 9 seats, which are only 3 above than the recently defeated CPI-M.
The bar association election result goes in favour of both CPI-M and BJP and it will be a mixed Bar Association as the Secretary post was won by CPI-M, whereas the President post went in favour of BJP.
With a blow for the BJP, CPI-M has successfully grabbed 6 seats in their favour.
On the other side, BJP candidate Dipak Kr Biswas won the election in the President post, whereas CPI-M candidate Arabinda Deb occupied the Secretary post.

- Dipak Kumar Biswas from BJP won by 158 votes (President)
- Jiban Sen won by 161 votes (Vice President)
- Asish Bhadra, winner with 156 votes,
- Amit Debbarma got 156 votes
- Animesh Bhowmik got 161 votes
- Chaitali Bhattacharjee got 154 votes
- Depaxi Debnath got 137 votes
- Pradip Sutradhar 140 votes
- Satyabrata Ghosh got 148 votes,

1. Bhaskar Debbarma won the Secretary post 136 votes
2. Kaushik Indu got 137 votes
3. Diptanu Debnath 147 votes,
4. Goutam Banik 137 votes
5. Mitali Nandi 151 votes
6. Sukanta Paul 140 votes.
Total 343 members of the Tripura Bar Association members have cast votes.
